HAPPY INDEX SET TO SOAR AGAIN!Horse RacingMini BlogsSports
This Wednesday, racing takes place at Shatin- and on the tricky all-dirt surface- and where the old adage of “Horses for courses” comes into play.
With this in mind, dirt specialist, Happy Index, steps out in Race 7 and looks very hard to beat.
This might be its last run on the dirt for a while as Trainer Tony Cruz feels the horse will be just as good on the turf.
Meanwhile, in Race 5, three horses which Happy Index has beaten face each other and with Costa De Sol looking the best of these.
Having said this, racing on the dirt always throws up a curveball and with the David Ferraris stable hitting its straps over the weekend with a double, Palepale- pronounced, “pa-lay pa-lay”- could win as could the ultra-consistent Green Zone who was a modest purchase for popular trainer Manu Melwani aka Sam The Tailor and which has performed just as effectively on the dirt and on the turf.
Frankly, though, we really think that Costa Del Sol is the horse to beat.
Meanwhile Military Move goes around for the last time in the last race of the night.
Owner Steven Lo has mentioned that he will retire the horse after this race so that it can enjoy its retirement back home in New Zealand.
