WHY IS FACEBOOK AND “ZUCK” LOSING SO MUCH FACE SO QUICKLY?Featured ArticleOther Good Stuff
Our friend Alex Lo wrote a very good piece about Mark Zuckerberg in his column for the Morning Post yesterday.
His take was that “Zuck” was and is a good role model for other young entrepreneurs, how he is determined and focused on his business and how his wedding to his long-time partner, Priscilla Chan, was a very low-key affair and, thankfully, not one of those ostentatious celebrity weddings.
Still, one wondered about the timing of this marriage.
We now seem to be seeing how Big Business and Corporate America, especially, comes to bite the asses of those who don’t belong to their Old Boys Club.
Wall Street, Main Street, possibly later even Occupy Facebook, is on the cards.
It’s like that song by Don Henley about building someone up only to kick them down.
We all seem to like success stories- but there is a “statute of limitations” to them.
Mark Zuckerberg no longer is the flavour of the day and, nether it seems, is Facebook.
Again, we have to ask, “Why now?”
The “timing” for this “Let’s dump on Zuckerberg and Facebook” is pretty strange.
Why did General Motors pull all their advertising from Facebook the day before the social networking site went public?
Why is there a daily dose of anti-Facebook stories?
Why are bloggers who once wrote so positively about “Zuck” now “zapping the Zuck”?
What’s he done to bring all this onto himself almost overnight?
Become too successful too quickly and too young to be accepted by The Old Boys Club?”
Sure, seems like it.
