He was nicknamed “The Magic Man” when he managed to do the impossible in Singapore by winning on horses that had never won before and, last year, riding all ten winners in one race meeting while today, the adventures of Brazilian jockey Joao Moreira, continue in his new home in Hong Kong.

Never before has a jockey in the highly competitive environment of Hong Kong racing made an impact on the racing community and the public at large like The Magic Man.

He has- poof- magically- and through his sheer talent- racked up winners in double-quick time, won over trainers and owners and the city’s racing mad public.

Joao Moreira is a celebrity with Rock Star status and now even has his own song- Samba De Joao Moreira.

A collaboration between Hong Kong-based Brazilian musician and Producer Jordie Guzman and music executive Hans Ebert, Advisor to the Hong Kong Jockey Club and Chairman and CEO of Fast Track Global, the track has, as they say, legs.

“It’s a simple, catchy track that was recorded as tribute to Joao Moreira,” says Guzman. “We used all Brazilian musicians for the recording which can soon be downloaded as a ring tune while we’re also going to do a Club Remix so that Moreiramania spreads throughout Hong Kong and to everywhere else Joao has ridden.”

An accompanying music video featuring the Magic Man’s exploits in Hong Kong has been produced and with plans to have this screened in the Hong Kong Jockey Club Off-Course Betting Centres, the Club’s race courses and venues in Happy Valley and Shatin, outdoor media platforms and in cinemas.
